4000 Footers
Total so far: 45
Some time around the summer of 2003, Dan and I decided that we wanted to summit all 48 peaks in New Hampshire’s White Mountains that were 4000 feet or higher. Doing so will gain us entry into the AMC 4000 Footers Club, which recognizes this significant achievement. Here on this page, I’m documenting my progress by listing the dates which I’ve summited and linking into pictures from the hikes that got me there.
We have no real time frame for this adventure — when it’s over, it’s over — but we try to hit three to five per summer. That sounds like ten years’ worth of work, and it just may be. But it’s not the destination, it’s the journey that matters, and while we do this we will gain experience along with a deep connection to this beautiful land.
